So I found out that my school administration has apparently rounded up all copies of the book 1984 and confiscated them. Tried to take people's personal copies as well. Dunno if it is a really bad joke or what, but it pisses me off. :mad:

    That is really stupid. Institutions are getting too power hungry these days, and stuff like that happens when they have no right to do it. Especially to a book like that which is a classic and taught in many schools. If they're that afraid of the book that they feel they have confiscate it that means that they must be turning into big brother.

      the whole analogue to Big Brother in their actions led us to think it was a joke until the we talked to the English Dept. Head and she got pissed as hell, making vague references to quitting/not returning next year.
