First off, that title is a reference to the three groups in the campaign mode.
Now, on to the Review!
Graphics: Awesome. They are detailed, crisp, clear and lifelike. This si running on full settings, I have no idea how it looks on lower settings. But I do not think the game is terribly taxing, but maybe that's cuz my rig is awesome. My motto is "Graphics are important, but never #1" so even those with a slower comp should be able to enjoy!
Sound: Pretty generic RTS music, looped seamlessly until you hit a battle, then it ramps up. Not too bad, but not incredible either.
Controls: Standard RTS fare, hotkeys and such, mouse to select things, keys to selct certain groups, etc....
Story: I wont reveal anything, but I will say it is epic, even if it is kind of cheesy at times.
Fun: I love RTS's amd I love this game. Maybe not everyone will agree, as it is an RTS in the vein of Starcraft, two main resources to collect, gold and timponium crystals, so resource management is somewhat low on the list. I enjoy it, hope you will too.
Replay: There are three groups to play as in the game, the Vinci, the steampunk race; the Alin, the Mystic race, and the Cutol, the Alien race. Each one has a seperate-linked-campaign, linked by the story, I mean, So there is a good amount of replay possible.
All in all, a good game, one of my personal favorites.
I've played all the Rise Of.. games until this one.
I kept meaning to go pick it up, but never got the chance. That said, I've never, ever played the story campaigns, only skirmish. Simply because my uncle and I used to skirmish a LOT and I mean a whole lot. Damn near every night.
Does it live up to the previous iterations of the game, or did you play with no prior experience of the game?
--- Keep your eyes peeled for the average gamers.
Nothing's broken, it's just functioning differently.
Yeah the story in this game was just wonderful. First RTS I ever was pushing to finish each mission so I could find out what happens in the story next.

All Your Base Are Belong To Me
It was well designed and fun.
I liked nuking people.
RTS is low on my list and having like 6 very solid ones installed already I doubt I'll be getting any more any time soon.
I do know this game line is good though.
